What is the Soundproofing Principle of a Soundproof Pod?

What is the Soundproofing Principle of a Soundproof Pod?

A soundproof pod effectively blocks external noise not through magic, but through solid acoustic engineering and precision structural design. True soundproofing must simultaneously address the three pathways of sound transmission: airborne sound, structure-borne sound, and leakage through gaps. Our soundproof pod is built around these three dimensions, constructing layered acoustic barriers from the frame, soundproofing materials, glass, and sealing system.

The first layer is the foundation of the frame and shell. The overall structure uses 6063-T5 refined aluminum alloy profiles combined with 1.2mm high-quality cold-rolled steel plates as the outer wall, forming a robust yet lightweight composite structure. The surface is treated with AkzoNobel or equivalent electrostatic powder coating, with adhesion meeting national standard cross-cut testing requirements. This not only ensures an aesthetic and durable finish but also provides stable structural support for the subsequent acoustic design.

The second layer is the synergistic effect of multi-layer composite soundproofing materials. We employ a dual-layer soundproofing system: the inner side is lined with E1-grade polyester fiber sound-absorbing panels, the cavity is filled with high-density soundproofing cotton and damping felt, and the exterior is sealed with high-quality cold-rolled steel plate coating. All internal and external gaps are filled with EVA sealing strips, ensuring complete isolation between internal and external rigid sound conductors, effectively cutting off the path of solid-borne sound transmission. This design achieves a sound insulation level of 32 ± 3 decibels, comparable to reducing a noisy office environment to the quiet level of a library. All primary soundproofing materials meet requirements for waterproofing, zero emissions, flame retardancy, acid resistance, salt resistance, corrosion resistance, and odorlessness, making them safe and environmentally friendly for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications.

The third layer is the acoustic design of the glass system. The standard glass features 5 + (1.14pvd) + 5mm transparent 3C certified safety laminated acoustic tempered glass. The laminated structure not only enhances impact resistance but, more importantly, the interlayer PVB film effectively dampens sound wave vibrations, maintaining visual transparency while upholding acoustic performance.

The fourth layer is the precision treatment of the sealing system. No matter how thick the walls, even the smallest gaps can significantly compromise soundproofing effectiveness. We use high-elasticity EVA sealing strips around the door frame, and all joints are precisely treated to ensure optimal airtightness, eliminating the possibility of sound leakage through gaps.

Finally, it is worth noting that while pursuing soundproofing, our pod does not compromise on interior comfort. The ventilation system adopts a dual-circulation fresh air system with upper inlet and lower outlet, ensuring no positive or negative pressure buildup inside the pod, with a temperature difference of no more than 2°C from the external environment. This allows you to enjoy a quiet space while breathing fresh, circulating air, ensuring comfort even during extended use.

The soundproofing principle of our pod is the synergistic effect of four core systems: frame structure, multi-layer soundproofing materials, laminated glass, and precision sealing. Each layer plays its role, collectively creating a truly quiet, focused, and comfortable private space. The moment you close the door, the noise stays outside — and silence belongs to you.
